About WIFFF

About WIFFF
What Is It

WHAT IS IT

The Winnipeg International Feline Film Festival is a film festival dedicated to celebrating everything about cats! Their kookiness, their companionship, their beauty, and why it's important that we all work together to help cats in need!

WIFFF also celebrates the life saving work that rescues do to help cats in Manitoba and across the world!

WHY WE DO IT

The Winnipeg International Feline Film Festival is an annual event presented by Cats Advocacy Team of Manitoba Inc.

The film festival raises funds for Cats MB's various education and community initiatives dedicated to their goal, which simply put is to ensure all cats in Manitoba have the chance at a happy and healthy life.

The Judges

Judges

Cats Manitoba is very excited to announce this year's film festival judges! We are so incredibly grateful to have Chrissy Troy, Brandi Vezina, and Littlefoot join us this year as our official festival judges!

Chrissy and Brandi truly exemplify what it means to be a proud Manitoban and speaking up for causes important to them! While Littlefoot's beautiful story truly speaks to the need that cats across the province face every day!

Cats Manitoba is so excited to have these feline loving faces help us at this year's festival - it won't be easy but we know they will work hard to pick the best short cat film of 2025!

Chrissy Troy.jpeg

Chrissy Troy is one quarter of The Ace Burpee Show on 103.1 Virgin Winnipeg.

She enjoys spending time gardening and cooking. For the last 17 years, she has shared a home with Len Podbisky, a medium haired tuxedo cat who loves chasing butterflies and lounging on his electric mat.

Brandi Vezina.jpeg

Brandi Vezina is a proud Métis singer-songwriter from Manitoba whose music blends heartfelt storytelling with authentic lived experiences. Her songs are inspired by her roots, personal journey, and the deep bond she shares with her beloved fur family.

A passionate animal advocate, Brandi is excited to serve as a judge at this year’s Winnipeg International Feline Film Festival, where she celebrates the joy and love that animals, especially cats, bring into our lives.

Littlefoot.jpeg

Littlefoot is a sweet (and spicy) boy who loves to go for stroller rides on the town. His favourite things are butterflies, candy wrappers and scallops!

Footie was found in a ditch behind a dumpster at only two weeks old and was bottle fed and raised by his pawrents. He has won over many hearts and gone from ditches to riches. Littlefoot now has over 37 thousand followers on Instagram!

We screen films from all genres that are guaranteed to entertain and inform! Including animated, mystery, documentary, action, and more! If there's a cat in it we're interested!

The Winnipeg International Feline Film Festival strives to be a mostly a family friendly event, however as we accept films from across genres, not every film may be suitable or relatable for children. Documentaries often show the hard truth and sad reality of rescue work which may touch on themes of death, animal suffering, and trauma. At WIFFF we will ensure appropriate disclaimers are shown before films which some audiences may find hard to watch.

As an organization we strive to maintain a positive and uplifting atmosphere that celebrates cats and cat culture while balancing artistic freedom and expression.

2025 Film Lineup

Film Lineup

Last years film festival raised almost $5,000 to help with education and cat saving initiatives. With that money Cats MB was able to sponsor spay and neuter clinics, assist in rescue operations, and launch education campaigns on the importance of getting cats fixed!

The Cats Advocacy Team of Manitoba is headquartered in Winnipeg on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe (Ojibway), Ininew (Cree), Oji-Cree, Dene, and Dakota Nations, and the homeland of the Métis. We also wish to acknowledge all lands within Manitoba, including Treaties 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and the lands which adhere to Treaty 5, which have been and still are the homeland to many distinct First Nations, Inuit, and Metis communities. This acknowledgement is only a first step in respecting Indigenous communities and working towards reconciliation. We strive to have true partnerships with and learn from Indigenous communities to work together to support animal, human, and environmental health.
